بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
104:1
وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ
Woe to every backbiter and slanderer,
104:2
ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ
who amasses wealth and counts it over and again¹,
104:3
يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَهُۥ
thinking that his wealth will make him live forever.
104:4
كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِى ٱلْحُطَمَةِ
No indeed! He will surely be cast into the Crushing Fire²,
104:5
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ
and how do you know what the Crushing Fire is?
104:6
نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُوقَدَةُ
It is the kindled Fire of Allah,
104:7
ٱلَّتِى تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ
which reaches the hearts³.
104:8
إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ
It will be closed down upon them,
104:9
فِى عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍۭ
locked with towering columns⁴.
